The system-specific parameters all go far beyond spectral behaviour, sensor-specific MTF, full-well capacity etc. Because even in today's digital world, every kind of selective sensor starts off as an analogue component that has to be well-understood in its effectiveness and its weaknesses in order to create stable, perfect results under all kinds of ambient conditions in subsequent systems.
